The Totino-Grace football team matched its victory total from last season with a 27-20 win over Mounds View in the 2022 season opener.
After Mounds View took a 6-0 lead in the second quarter, back-to-back touchdowns late in the first half gave TG a spark.
EJ Mathis scored on a short run, and Colin Rowe followed with an interception return for a touchdown to make 13-6 Eagles at the half.
The third quarter was scoreless, and each team scored twice in an eventful fourth quarter.
Nick Ruohonen’s 51 yard touchdown run gave Totino-Grace a 27-13 lead and they held on for the win.
