Totino-Grace Boys Basketball Routs Hermantown in State Tournament Opener
The Totino-Grace boys basketball team routed Hermantown 83-50 in the quarterfinals of the state Class AAA tournament Tuesday morning.
Taison Chatman scored 19 points to lead the Eagles in scoring. Patrick Bath added 16, Demarion Watson 12 and Jayden Livingston 10 for Grace.
The Eagles shot 52 percent on field goals, including 43 percent on three-pointers and forced 22 turnovers.
The Hawks (21-9) had three players score 10 points each.
Totino-Grace (24-6), the top-seeded team in the Class AAA tournament, now plays Mankato East (22-8) in the tournament semifinals Thursday at 12 noon at Williams Arena.
TG is in the state tournament for the first time since 2006.
