Totino-Grace Boys Basketball Opens State Tournament with Win Over Stewartville
The two-time defending class AAA state champion Totino-Grace boys basketball team earned a 57-48 win over Stewartville in the quarterfinal round of the state tournament.
The Eagles only led by two at halftime and got down by as many as five points in the second half, but TG closed out the final eleven minutes of the game on a 21-7 run and held the Tigers without a field goal for a nine-and-a-half-minute stretch.
Seven different players scored for the Eagles. Chace Watley and Isaiah Johnson led the way with 13 points and Tyler Wagner added 12.
Totino-Grace will play DeLaSalle in the semifinals Thursday at noon at Williams Arena.
