Totino-Grace Beats Tri-City Red in Opening Round of State Legion Tournament
The Totino-Grace American Legion baseball team scored an opening round win state tournament win Thursday, beating Tri-City Red 3-1.
Tommy Heifort singled twice, both times scoring Will Franczak. Tyler Hand drove the Eagles’ other run with a double scoring Drew Zehr.
Jake Goldsberry pitched the first six and a third innings, allowing one run on four hits while striking out six. Franczak earned a save in relief of Goldsberry getting the final two outs of the game.
Tri-City Red scored its only run of the game in the second inning on a homerun by Nate Edelman in the second inning.
Totino-Grace now faces Farmington Friday afternoon at 2:30 pm at Bentfield Mills Park in Buffalo.
