Top-Ranked Maple Grove Football Scores Win over Wayzata
Kaden Harney threw three touchdown passes and James Engle scored three touchdowns to help lead the Maple Grove football team to a 42-21 win over Wayzata.
Engle rushed for 201 yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns and also caught a Harney pass early in the fourth quarter to give the Crimson a 35-7 lead.
Defensively, linebacker Beaux Thyen had two interceptions for Maple Grove while defensive back Max Beeninga had two picks for Wayzata.
Maple Grove (7-0) is the top-ranked team in Class 6A and hosts Minnetonka (6-1) in a rematch of last year’s Prep Bowl, won by the Crimson.
Wayzata (1-6) plays at Eden Prairie Wednesday for their regular season finale.
