Tonka-Fusion Elite Soccer Team Heading to Nationals
A Plymouth-based girls soccer team is headed to the national championship tournament in Orlando, Florida.
The Tonka-Fusion Elite 2005 team, made up of high school juniors and seniors from the west and northwest metro, has qualified for the 16-team national tournament.
The club has a record of 28-1-1 and has defeated three of the fifteen other teams that qualified for nationals.
Many of the same girls on this team played in the national tournament in 2019.
The tournament starts Tuesday in Orlando with each team guaranteed three games with semifinal and championship round games to follow.
