Thompson, Woods Qualify for State Gymnastics Meet
Maple Grove’s Sasha Thompson and Park Center’s Maya Woods both qualified for this weekend’s state Class AA gymnastics meet by finishing in the top four at the Section 5AA meet in Elk River.
Woods won the balance beam and finished second on the vault and floor exercise and was second in the all-around with a score of 37.125.
Thompson (36.900) finished third in the all-around and second on the beam and bars.
St. Michael-Albertville won the team championship in 5AA with a score of 143.450.
