Terry Tuma Ice Fishing Tip: Tip-Ups for Northern Pike
In this week’s CCX ice fishing tip, Hall of Fame angler Terry Tuma talks about the use of tip-ups when fishing for northern pike in the winter.
Terry says as soon as the flag on the tip-up goes up, look down the fishing hole to see if the spool is still spinning.
If yes, lift the tip-up out of the hole, peeling the line off the spool.
Be careful to not create any tension in the line or the fish will drop the bait as soon as it senses tension.
