State Class AA Swimming and Diving Highlights

The state high school girls swimming and diving season ended Saturday with the championship meets in both Class A and AA. Both Maple Grove and Wayzata qualified several athletes to the finals.

Top six finishers from those schools included Maple Grove’s Libby Bakker (3rd 100 Backstroke, 4th 200 IM), Maple Grove’s Kaya Flaherty (5th, 100 Butterfly), Wayzata’s Lucy Troyak (6th 200 and 500 Freestyle), Wayzata diver Ashley Mouyenga (4th place), Maple Grove diver Ellis Landry (6th) plus Maple Grove relays 200 Medley Relay (3rd) and 200 Free Relay (5th).

Wayzata’s team finished fourth overall while Maple Grove was fifth. Edina repeated as Class AA champion.

In Class A Breck finished fourth with senior Piper Crosby winning the 100-yard backstroke and the Mustangs winning the 200 Yard Medley Relay.
