Six Local Wrestlers Win Titles at Section 5AAA Individual Tournament
Six wrestlers from the CCX viewing area won championships at the Section 5AAA individual tournament.
Another six also qualified for state by placing second at their weight.
Team section winner St. Michael-Albertville had seven section champions and eleven state entrants in all.
Three Wayzata wrestlers won titles: Luke Koenen (121 pounds), Logan Swensen (133) and Charlie Petit (160).
Maple Grove had two champions: Connor Peterson (145) and Ben Schultz (215).
Logan Ross of Hopkins (285) also was a section champion.
State individual competition is Friday and Saturday at the Xcel Center in St. Paul after Thursday’s team competition.
