Rogers Boys Hockey Skates Past Maple Grove
In the teams’ only regular-season meeting, the Rogers boys hockey team skated past Maple Grove 4-1 Tuesday.
The teams have played in each of the two Section 5AA finals with the Crimson winning both games.
Avenir Belous scored for the Royals 23 seconds into the first period to give them the lead for good.
Mason Wanka scored the second goal for Rogers in the second period.
Keaton Weis scored twice for the Royals in the third period.
Jackson Kuznik scored the only goal of the game for Maple Grove, also in the third period.
The Royals outshot the Crimson 42-35.
Rogers improved its season record to 9-4-2 while Maple Grove fell to 9-4-0.
