Race is on at Northwest Suburban Cross Country
Cross country meets look a lot different this fall during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the races go on.
The Northwest Suburban Conference meet was held Wednesday at Bassett Creek Park in Crystal.
The girls and boys meets each had five seperate races with three teams in most and two in others to allow for social distancing.
Times for each runner and team scores were all added together as one big meet.
Armstrong easily captured the boys team title, with four of the top nine runners.
Andover placed second and Maple grove third.
Cameron Heppner of Andover edged Armstrong’s Noah Breker for the individual title.
Andover won the girls team title, ahead of Maple Grove and Osseo.
Andover’s Claire Beckman and Alyssa Gerth finished first and second respectively.
Lindsey Young of Maple Grove placed third and Jules Davis of Osseo fourth.
