Providence Girls Basketball Keeps Winning
The Providence Academy girls’ basketball team appears to be steaming toward a third straight state tournament appearance.
The Lions, winners of 23 straight games, are the top-ranked team in Class 2A.
Providence (23-2) won state last year and are led by all-state freshman guard Maddyn Greenway. Greenway became the youngest player to reach 2000 career points when she surpassed the milestone mark with a 60-point game at Minnehaha Academy last Friday.
Greenway is averaging nearly 32 points per game while Grace Counts and Brooke Hohenecker also average scoring in double figures.
Providence finishes the regular season Saturday at Perham and should be the top seed for the Section 5AA tournament.
The Lions would host a section playoff game on Saturday March 4th.
