Providence Academy Girls Basketball Wins State AA Title
The Providence Academy girls basketball team beat Fergus Falls 55-53 to win the state Class AA championship Saturday.
The Lions, runners-up a year ago to Albany, were Class AA’s top-ranked team and finished the season with a 29-4 record.
Maria Counts scored 19 points, Grace Counts 17 points and Maddyn Greenway 15 points to lead the Lions to the second state title in program history.
Ellie Colebeck scored 41 points for the Otters.
