Providence Academy Girls Basketball Beats Mahtomedi
The Providence Academy girls basketball team beat Mahtomedi 74-54 Wednesday in the home opener for Providence.
Maddyn Greenway scored 37 points to lead the Lions.
Grace Counts had 13 of her 17 points in the first half as Providence built a 41-24 halftime lead.
The Lions are the defending state class AA champion.
The win evened their record at 2-2.
Providence opened the season with three very tough games, including strong Wisconsin and Iowa teams and class AAA power Becker.
