Providence Academy Girls Basketball Advances to State Again on Greenway’s Record-Breaking Night
The Providence Academy girls basketball team is back in the state tournament again with a 98-60 Section 5AA final win over Maranatha Christian Academy.
The seventh straight section title for the Lions was overshadowed by Maddyn Greenway’s record-breaking night.
The senior guard became Minnesota high school girls’ basketball all-time leading scorer. A first-half free throw gave her the record, surpassing the record held by Crosby-Ironton’s Tori Oehrlein. Greenway finished the night with 43 points giving her 5.505 for her career.

Greenway could have up to three more games to add to that total. The Lions will be going for an unprecedented fifth straight Class AA title this week.
Providence Academy is the number one seed at state and opens the state tournament Wednesday at 6:00 pm at Williams Arena against the Central Raiders of Norwood-Young America.
