Providence Academy Football Falls to Unbeaten Orono
The Providence Academy football team lost for just the second time this season, falling 24-13 to unbeaten Orono.
The Spartans (6-0) came into the game ranked third in Class AAAA while the Lions were ranked fourth.
A Magnus Hansen quarterback sneak and the ensuing extra point late in the second quarter gave Providence a 7-6 halftime lead.
But Orono scored two touchdowns in the third quarter and a field goal in the fourth quarter to put them ahead 24-7.
Hansen scored a second touchdown for Providence on the final play of the game.
The Lions outgained the Spartans in total yards 281-216 but turned the ball over twice while Orono did not have a turnover.
