Prep Football Training Camp Report: Providence Academy Lions
Numbers are up this fall in the Providence Academy football program as they move into Class AAAA.
The Providence program is a co-op with players from Maranatha Christian Academy, Heritage Christian Academy, West Lutheran, and River Tree.
The Lions were 7-3 last season and return a lot of players who saw varsity time.
Leading the returners is one of the state’s top juniors, defensive tackle and guard Abu Tarawallie.
Tarawallie is being recruited by a number of major college programs. He is battling back from an injury to start this season.
Other key returners include defensive end Nick Thoma, safety/wide receiver Anthony Fahnlander, running back Colin Capouch, and Charlie Willihnganz, who moves from receiver to quarterback this fall.
The Lions face a tougher schedule this season but say they are ready for the challenge.
