2022 Prep Football Training Camp Report: Maple Grove
The Maple Grove football team enters the 2022 season with high hopes for another deep playoff run.
The Crimson are coming off an 11-2 season which included the program’s first Prep Bowl appearance.
45 seniors return with several key players back.
Quarterback Jacob Kilzer, offensive lineman Hunter Gerber, defensive lineman Alan Jou and defensive backs Jackson Powers and Michael Ross are among the returning starters. Tanner Albeck, the team’s fullback in 2021, returns and will start at linebacker.
Tight end Sam Peters, a University of Minnesota recruit, and Jacob Anderson will start the season sidelined by injuries.
The Crimson also possess a strong kicking game featuring Connor Fornier and Ben Jameson.
Maple Grove opens the season hosting rival Osseo Thursday night at 7:00 pm in a game you can watch live on CCX.
