Patti Weldon Retiring as Armstrong AD
After 33 years in the Robbinsdale School District and 17 years as Armstrong activities director, Patti Weldon is retiring this month.
Although it was an unusual end to the school year with no spring sports, Weldon says her decision was made long before COVID-19 changed everything for students, teachers, and administrators.
Weldon was named Region 6AA and Minnesota activities director of the year this year.
Prior to moving into administration, she was a teacher and the head girls basketball coach for the Falcons.
Armstrong was a powerhouse in girls basketball in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, earning three state tournaments appearances during Weldon’s time as coach.
She has been in education for 36 years and says now is a good time for a chance to try something new before she retires fully.
