Park Center Upsets Centennial in Girls Basketball Playoffs
Park Center will play for a section girls basketball title after upsetting top seed Centennial in the Section 5AAAA semifinals Saturday.
The Pirates took a two-point lead on Sommer Blakemore’s free throws with seven seconds left in regulation.
Centennial answered with a basket by Claire Orth as time expired, tying the game 70-70 to force overtime.
The Pirates took the lead early in overtime and held off the Cougars to win 81-76.
Park Center no meets Roseville for the section title Thursday night at Anoka High School.
The Raiders beat Champlin Park in the other semifinal.
