Park Center Girls Basketball Advances to Section Final
The Park Center girls basketball team advanced to the Section 5AAAA final with a 69-57 win over Champlin Park.
The Pirates closed the first half on a 7-0 run to take a 23-16 lead into halftime on a day when both teams showed playoff jitters.
The offense picked up in the second half. Park Center pushed its lead into double figures before the Rebels rallied to within six.
The Pirates never lost the lead though and went on to the win.
Adalia McKenzie scored 31 points in the second half and 38 total for Park Center.
The Pirates meet Centennial for the section title Thursday at Anoka High School.
