Park Center Boys Basketball Rallies Past Maple Grove
The top ranked Park Center boys basketball team was challenged but rallied to beat Maple Grove 70-57 Thursday.
Park Center started strong, taking an early 7-0 lead.
Maple Grove chipped away at the lead, and went ahead by as much as eight at 27-19.
Park Center trimmed the deficit to 31-28 at halftime.
The Pirates stepped their defensive intensity in the second half and took the lead.
Braeden Carrington scored 17 of his 23 points in the second half to lead the Pirates.
Leo Torbor had 21 points for Park Center.
Jon Haakenson had 16 to lead Maple Grove.
Park Center is now 23-1 with one week left in the regular season.
