Osseo VFW Baseball Loses at State Tournament
The Osseo VFW baseball team lost its opening game of the state tournament 4-3 to Little Falls Thursday.
Osseo opened the scoring on Gavin Phenow’s RBI double in the top of the fourth inning.
Little Falls tied the game in the bottom of the fourth, then scored three in the fifth to go up 4-1.
Osseo rallied in the seventh. Down 4-2, Brayden Haag’s flyball fell in for a hit.
Lead runner Isaac Johnson scored to make it 4-3 but Caleb Ordner was thrown out at the plate as Little Falls held on for the win.
Osseo was then eliminated by Rochester Mayo in a 12-9 loss.
District 7 champion Totino-Grace also lost its first game at the state tournament, falling 6-4 to Owatonna.
They bounced back to win their second game 3-0 over St. Cloud Blue.
Totino-Grace plays St. Cloud Red Friday afternoon in an elimination game.
