Osseo Legion Baseball Preps for State Tournament
The Osseo American Legion baseball team is preparing for the program’s first appearance in the state tournament in eight years.
Osseo won the North Hennepin League this summer with a perfect 12-0 record and then won all four games in the Sub-State 11 tournament.
After no Legion season in 2020 the players are enjoying the extra time playing baseball together. The team includes some 2020 Osseo High School graduates who also didn’t get to play their senior year of high school ball because of the pandemic.
There is a new format for the state tournament this year with all 16 teams guaranteed at least three games of pool play.
Osseo opens against Eden Prairie Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at St. Cloud Orthopedics Field in Sartell.
Five fields in the St. Cloud area will host the tournament games.
