Osseo Legion Baseball Edges Buffalo in Sub-State 10 Final
The Osseo Post 172 American Legion baseball team edged Buffalo 1-0 to win the Sub-State 10 final Sunday.
Quincy Standal pitched a complete game shutout and also drove in the only run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning.
After their bats were quiet in the early innings, Buffalo had scoring threats in the last three innings.
Runners were thrown out at the plate in the fifth and sixth innings and they left the bases loaded in the seventh as Standal got a strikeout to end the game.
Osseo meets Farmington in the first round of the state tournament Thursday morning in St. Michael.
