Osseo Football Falls to White Bear Lake
The Osseo football team lost a close one 21-17 to White Bear Lake Thursday afternoon in the regular season finale for both teams.
Osseo scored first on a Stephon Barcenas to Iggie Cooper touchdown pass to lead 7-0 after a quarter.
After White Bear Lake tied it in the second quarter, John Fallah kicked a 31-yard field goal to give Osseo a 10-7 halftime lead.
White Bear Lake’s Porter Cleary scored short touchdowns in the third and early in the fourth quarter to make it 21-10 Bears.
Robert Pierson intercepted a pass for Osseo and returned it to the one-yard line to set up a TD to bring the Orioles within 21-17.
With about three and a half minutes to play Phillip Sieh blocked a White Bear Lake punt and Lance Quiah returned it for an apparent go-ahead touchdown, but the return was negated by a penalty and White Bear Lake held on for the win.
Osseo plays at Eagan in the first round of the class AAAAAA tournament.
