Osseo Falls 8-1 in Gopher Classic Legion Baseball Opener
The Osseo American Legion baseball team lost its opening game Friday in the Gopher Classic Tournament, falling 8-1 to Box Elder, South Dakota.
Box Elder scored a run in the second inning and added five more in the second, capped by Ian Beer’s two-run single.
Osseo scored its lone run in the sixth inning on Eli Larson’s single that scored Jackson Berg.
Each of the 96 teams in the tournament is scheduled to play five games in pool play this weekend with the 16 pool play winners advancing to bracket play Monday morning.
Champlin, Hopkins, Maple Grove, Wayzata and Hamel are the other local teams in the tournament.
