Osseo Boys Basketball Starts with Virtual Practices
The Osseo boys basketball team can’t be in the gym just yet, but the Orioles are holding virtual practice sessions.
High COVID-19 numbers in Minnesota lead to a pause in high school and youth sports for four weeks that started November 20.
Practices in the modified boys basketball season were supposed to start in late November, but the pause changed that.
Osseo is using the time online to check in with players and discuss team goals, philosophies, strengths and weaknesses and other topics.
They also do some physical workouts together during Google Meet sessions.
The target date to begin in-person practices is now December 21.
That’s if Governor Walz lifts the restrictions on sports December 18, when they are scheduled to expire.
