Osseo Boys Basketball Looking to Rebound After Slow Start
The Osseo boys basketball team is hoping to rebound after a slow start this season.
The Orioles won 22 games last season and advanced to the Section 5AAAA championship game, losing to eventual state champ Park Center.
A mostly new Osseo team is 0-2 this season, but the losses were close games against good East Ridge and Andover teams.
The Orioles know it may take some time to mesh with so many new faces in the lineup but they remain optimistic.
Minnesota-Duluth recruit Trey Smith is the lone returning starter for the Orioles.
Osseo host the Breakdown Sports event called “The Big Stage” Saturday.
They will face Eastview at 5:30 p.m. as part of a day full of games.
Other local teams set to play in the event are Cooper, Champlin Park, Maple Grove, Hopkins, Armstrong, Benilde-St. Margaret’s, and Park Center.
The evening is capped off by a matchup of the #1 and #2 teams in the class AAAA rankings as Park Center faces Lakeville North.
