Osseo Boys Basketball Edges Armstrong in Conference Opener
On a snowy night the Osseo and Armstrong boys basketball teams put on a show Tuesday, with Osseo pulling out an 83-78 win over Armstrong in both teams’ Northwest Suburban Conference opener.
The first half was back and forth, with Armstrong taking a 39-37 lead into the halftime break.
Osseo surged into the lead before Armstrong took its turn, bolting to a 71-64 lead with about four minutes to play.
The game turned into a great shooting duel between Owen Counce of Osseo and Gabriel Lundberg of Armstrong, who each hit four three-pointers in the second half and traded key hoops.
Osseo closed strong to pull out the win.
Counce had 28 to lead the Orioles, with Quincy Johnson adding 15 and Tony Partyka 14. Lundberg had 22 and Javaun Watson 20 for Armstrong.
Both teams are now 3-1 overall.
