Osseo Beats Hopkins for State Legion Baseball Title
The Osseo American Legion baseball team beat Hopkins 16-6 Sunday to win the state American Legion baseball tournament.
Both teams advance to the Central Plains Regional tournament in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Osseo scored five runs in the first inning, drawing three walks while getting just one hit in the inning.
Hopkins scored six runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 6-5 lead but Osseo responded by scoring 11 runs in the bottom of the fifth to win on the ten-run rule.
Osseo plays West Fargo, North Dakota in the first round of the regional tournament Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Sioux Falls Stadium.
Hopkins meets Fargo, ND in their first game Wednesday at approximately 11:30 a.m.
It is a double elimination tournament with the winner advancing to the Legion World Series in North Carolina.
