OMGAA Hosts Fun Softball Night
The Osseo-Maple Grove Athletic Association (OMGAA) fastpitch softball program wanted to provide a little fun in a tough summer.
The COVID-19 pandemic has sidelined a lot of young athletes starting in March.
Thursday night, the OMGAA Storm hosted an evening that included a 14-U game against Buffalo and much more.
Their was a DJ, food truck, contests, prizes and college softball players signed autographs.
Many OMGAA teams didn’t play this summer, but the 14-U White team did get a partial season in.
University of Minnesota infielder Emily Hansen and South Dakota State University pitcher Morgan DeMaris coach the Buffalo 16-U team.
They signed autographs for young up and coming players before the game against OMGAA, then jumped into coaching mode.
It was a night for a few smiles in what’s been a stressful summer for softball players and families in general.
