New Armstrong AD Larry Tate is Eager to Get Started
It’s not a typical fall season due to COVID-19, but new Armstrong High School Activities Director Larry Tate is eager to get started.
Tate was hired this month to succeed Patti Weldon, who retired.
Tate has coached in the Armstrong football and basketball programs and lived in District 281 for many years.
He also has ties to youth sports in the area.
Two years as activities director at Maranatha Christian Academy also helped prepare Tate for the job.
He says not having students in the building in the Distance Plus learning model will be a challenge.
It’s also a chance to find new ways to make sure kids have a positive experience in athletics and activities.
