Marcus Hill Brings Passion for Basketball and Academics to Brooklyn Park
Marcus Hill has used basketball as a stepping stone in life. The 33-year old native of Brooklyn Park is the new parks and facilities manager for the city.
Hill is helping his department as it looks to improve the city’s current community activity center and build a teen center. Money for the projects, and others, was raised in a voter-approved 2018 Park Bond Referendum.
He also works with his family’s foundation, Minnesota Chill, to help teens through basketball, fitness, academic programs and more.
Marcus was on a state runner up team in basketball at Breck School in 2006 and later played college basketball at Minnesota State-Mankato (then Mankato State) and professionally for a few years.
He lives in Brooklyn Park and started his job with the city earlier this year.
