Maranatha Christian Academy Softball Opens Postseason with Win Over Maple Lake
In the first round of the Section 5AA softball playoffs, Maranatha Christian Academy earned a 5-1 win over Maple Lake at the Zane Sports Park.
Alaina Dunham got the bats going early for the Mustangs with a triple in the bottom of the first inning and then a stand-up double in the second.
Ashley Yost got the win in the circle for MCA, only allowing one run.
Elisa Meissner and Sophia Alm added insurance with run-scoring hits in the fourth inning.
Maranatha Christian Academy advances on to second round of the 5AA tournament, facing the five seed Glencoe-Silver Lake on Wednesday.
