Maranatha Boys Basketball Falls to Minneapolis North in 5AA Final
The Maranatha Christian Academy boys basketball team saw its season end Friday with an 80-52 loss to Minneapolis North in the Section 5AA championship game.
The Mustangs (23-7) trailed the Polars by just three points at halftime but North outscored MCA 41-16 in the second half to pull away for the win.
Jeremiah LaVelle led the Mustangs in scoring with 14 points while JaRory Purnell added 12 and Bailey McDonald 10.
North (25-6) featured five players in double figures led by Willie Wilson’s 18 points.
The Polars play Glencoe-Silver Lake in the state Class AA quarterfinals.
