Maplebrook U16 Boys Fall to Texas Warriors in USA Cup Final
The Maplebrook U16 boys soccer team fell one game short of winning the silver pool playoff bracket, dropping a 1-0 match to the Texas Warriors at the USA Cup tournament on Saturday.
The goalkeepers for both teams, Reyansh Chandra from Maplebrook and Kongphop Pornjaroenwiwat from the Texas Warriors, kept the game scoreless for all of the first half and most of the second.
Oscar Cigarroa broke the scoreless match by rebounding a shot off the left post and netting it to make it a 1-0 game.
Maplebrook had a free kick opportunity in the final minute, but couldn’t convert.
Maplebrook finished the USA Cup with a 5-1 record.
