MapleBrook U15 Girls Play to 1-1 Draw at USA Cup
The MapleBrook under 15 girls soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against East Ridge in pool play Thursday at the USA Cup tournament in Blaine.
Neither team scored in the first half but in the opening minute of the second half MapleBrook’s Abigail Thao scored directly off a corner kick to give her team the first goal of the match.
It stayed 1-0 until much later in the second half when the Raptors’ Layla Shultz chipped a shot in for a goal.
Neither team scored the rest of the way and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Playoff matches in the various age divisions and brackets for the tournament take place Friday and Saturday.
