Maple Grove’s Brock Faber Signs with Minnesota Wild
Maple Grove’s Brock Faber had a whirlwind weekend.
The University of Minnesota junior defenseman saw an NCAA title slip away Saturday night, as the Gophers lost 3-2 in overtime to Quinnipiac.
Sunday, Faber agreed to terms on a three-year contract with the Minnesota Wild.
Faber won’t ease into things.
He will make his NHL debut Monday night in Chicago against the Blackhawks.
Faber, who grew up playing in the Osseo-Maple Grove youth association, was a captain for the Gophers and also a U.S. Olympian in 2022.
The Wild acquired his rights as part of the Kevin Fiala trade with the Los Angeles Kings, the team that made Faber a second-round draft pick.
