Maple Grove Volleyball Beats Osseo in Section Quarterfinal
The Maple Grove volleyball team advanced to the semifinals of the Section 5AAAA tournament Tuesday with a three-set sweep of Osseo.
The Crimson, seeded third in the tournament, defeated the Orioles 25-9, 25-17, and 25-13.
Abby Bulthuis recorded 10 kills to lead the Crimson with Audrey Waterman and Riley Orrock adding seven each.
Jordan Ondrey and Sophie Seibert led the Orioles with six kills apiece.
Osseo finishes the season with a 6-21 record.
Maple Grove (19-11) now plays second-seeded Champlin Park (23-5) in the tournament semifinals Thursday at 7:00 pm at Wayzata High School.
The Rebels beat the Crimson in three sets in September when the teams met during the regular season.
Wayzata faces Hopkins in the other 5AAAA semifinal.
