Maple Grove Softball Edges Champlin Park
The Maple Grove softball team edged Champlin Park 2-1 to advance to the Section 5AAAA final.
Eva Dueck and Jade Tomashek drove in runs for the Crimson as they built a 2-0 lead.
Champlin Park scored in the sixth as Holly Blaska tripled and scored on Emma Berge’s single.
Pitcher Dueck shut the door from there as the Crimson held on for the win.
They are into Thursday’s final round, needing one win to take the section title.
Champlin Park is facing the Rogers-Centennial winner in an elimination game Tuesday.
