Maple Grove Softball Advances to 5AAAA Final
Lauren Beissel’s two-run single in the fifth inning provided the only runs of the game and lifted the Maple Grove softball team to a 2-0 win over Centennial in the Section 5AAAA tournament.
The win advances the Crimson to Thursday’s section final.
The Crimson loaded the bases with two outs in the fifth before Beissel’s clutch hit.
Maple Grove pitcher Maddie Wihlm was outstanding, striking out 12 Centennial batters and allowing just two hits.
Maple Grove hosts the section final Thursday at 4:00 pm against an opponent that will be determined Tuesday afternoon.
