Maple Grove Routs Eden Prairie to Gain Prep Bowl Berth
The Maple Grove football team routed Eden Prairie 35-3 Thursday night as the Crimson earned the program’s first-ever Prep Bowl berth.
After a pair of first quarter turnovers led to a 3-0 lead the Crimson scored 21 second quarter points to take control of the game.
Jacob Kilzer threw a 33 yard touchdown pass to Jacob Anderson for Maple Grove’s first touchdown.
Derrick Jameson then scored on a 77-yard run and Anderson recovered and Eden Prairie fumble and returned it for a touchdown to give the Crimson a 21-3 halftime lead.
Kiers Brevik scored on another fumble recovery for Maple Grove in the third quarter and Jameson capped the scoring with his second rushing touchdown and 23 rushing TD of the season, breaking Isaac Collins’ single-season school record.
Maple Grove (11-1) plays in the Class 6A championship game Friday night November 26th at U.S. Bank Stadium.
