Maple Grove Headed to Lake Conference
After years of speculation about the possibility, Maple Grove High School will be leaving the Northwest Suburban Conference to join the Lake Conference starting next fall.
The Lake will become an eight-team conference with the addition of the Crimson, barring any further movement.
The Lake is widely considered the strongest conference in many sports, and the coaches from Maple Grove that we spoke with are excited about the competition.
They hope to maintain some rivalries with Northwest Suburban teams, including fellow District 279 schools Osseo and Park Center, in non-conference play going forward.
