Maple Grove Gymnastics Vaults Past Park Center
The Maple Grove gymnastics team defeated Park Center 140.275 to 131.000 in the final regular season meet of the season for both teams.
Pirates’ senior Annika Lee won the vault, bars and floor exercise on her way to winning the meet all-around title with a score of 37.6.
Maple Grove’s Sasha Thompson won the balance beam and finished second to Lee in the all-around.
Both teams hit their high scores for the season in the meet and will compete in the Section 5AA meet Thursday at Champlin Park.
The eight-team section will have two four-team sessions with Maple Grove and Champlin Park among the teams competing in the afternoon while Park Center is in the evening session.
