Maple Grove Goalie Jack Wieneke Wins Frank Brimsek Award
His team fell just short of a state title, but Maple Grove boys hockey goalie Jack Wieneke captured a top individual honor.
Wieneke won the Frank Brimsek Award, given annually to Minnesota’s top senior goalie.
Wieneke had a 19-2 record, 1.65 goals against average, and .916 save percentage for the Crimson.
Maple Grove reached the state semifinals for the first time in program history, losing in overtime to eventual Class AA champion Eden Prairie.
