Maple Grove Girls Tennis Wins First Section Title
The Maple Grove girls tennis team beat Delano 5-2 in the Section 5AA championship match to win their first-ever section title.
The Crimson had knocked off top seed Wayzata in the semifinals and came through with another strong performance in the championship.
Maple Grove won three of the four singles matches and won at second and third doubles.
Section singles and doubles play is Monday and Tuesday in Minneapolis.
The team portion of the state girls tennis tournament is October 26-27.
