Maple Grove Girls Tennis Loses to Elk River in State Quarterfinals
The Maple Grove girls tennis team faced a familiar foe in the state class AA team quarterfinals Tuesday.
The fifth-seeded Crimson lost 5-2 to fourth seed and Northwest Suburban Conference rival Elk River.
The Elks won three of the four singles matches and two of three doubles matches.
All three doubles matches went three sets.
The loss moved the Crimson into the consolation bracket. Maple Grove lost 4-3 to Mounds View ending their season.
