Maple Grove Girls Soccer Loses Shootout
The Maple Grove girls soccer team lost in a shootout against Minnetonka in the state quarterfinals.
Minnetonka dominated the early part of the game and had a 1-0 lead.
Maple Grove came on strong and tied the game on a goal by Kelley Kloncz.
The Crimson had some chances in overtime but couldn’t score.
In the shootout, all five Skippers shooters scored, and goalkeeper Paige Kahlmeyer stopped one shot.
That was good enough to send Minnetonka to the semifinals.
